HIGHAM WRITERS 2018

And a happy new year to all the readers of our website!

I know there are many of you out there, but we have no way of knowing whether you enjoy our stories or not because we never hear from you. So 2018 will be much the same as the past few years – we will carry on enjoying and presenting our work, and just trust that you are enjoying them as much as we are.

We have had a strange old year, rather a lot of illness amongst our members, and the group took a break for several months. We are now up and running again.

Meeting Times and Place   We are still meeting in Higham but have changed our day to Thursday, once per month. It’s usually during the last week of the month. We still have one or two of our old regulars (including me), but also one or two new ones, with space for one or two more if anybody else locally would like to join us.

We are at present working our way through the literary spectrum – we have “done” murder, 100 word shorts, and the latest assignment to tackle was “Stalking”. Some of the results you will see on the website here. Anyone else out there who has a 1000 word story they would like to see on the site, please contact Denise and we will see what we can do.

Meanwhile, we will carry on writing, what we enjoy doing best.     We have all been trawling the internet looking for story competitions (lots of them) and hopefully we will be submitting our best efforts later in the year.

Good luck to all you other writers out there, you know where to come if you need any advice,

Best wishes for 2018

Denise, and the gang.
