SNOW A Poem By Ray Abinett

Blown by wind the snowflakes fall

Which changes grass and trees so tall

Where now the landscape is so white

Covering everything in sight

There are children playing in the snow

Snowball fights and sleds in tow

I think of days all long ago

When I played myself out in the snow

I turned and went to walk away

When a shout went up “do you want to play?”

I stopped and turned, but was too slow

As a storm of snowballs hit me low

It proved to me that I was wrong

To wish that I could play along

I laughed out loud but could not doubt

What a burk I was to heed their shout
