From The Other Side by John Lary

I came, I saw, I conquered
At least that’s what they said
But little good it did me
When I took to my bed

I treated people harshly
If they baulked or hesitated
I took just what I wanted
And my wealth accumulated
But I couldn’t take it with me
I left it all behind

And when they talk about me
Their words are less than kind
So view success with caution
And concentrate on love
For your goods have little value
