MY FAVOURITE COLOUR by Marion Twyman.

I am an Anglo Saxon girl,
Blonde hair, and eyes of blue,
And although my locks have faded
My eyes retain their hue.

Blue makes me think of sunny skies
And flowers growing wild
These memories have been with me
Since I was just a child.

Blue’s still my favourite colour,
And still wearable at my age.
It will always stand the test of time
And I’ll wear it instead of beige.

There is a little mystery though
I’ll introduce you to.
My bathroom suite’s the palest shade
Of – yes, you’ve guessed it – blue.

I like to buy my toilet rolls
In packages of twelve
But on the supermarket shelves
I have to dig and delve.

The staff stand there and watch me
As I wreck their tidy store
Why do they mostly sell blue rolls
In packages of four ?
